High-Quality Oil Resistant Cable Materials

Both the conductor and the insulation material are the ideal materials for oil-resistant cables. The insulation material can either be:

  • Cross-linked polyethene (XLPE) – is made up of various linked polyethene. This prevents the polymer from melting as an insulating material. XLPE is an excellent material for high-temperature applications.
  • Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) – is a common oil-resistant cable insulating material. It is less expensive and more stable. However, the chlorine present poses a health risk in the event of a fire.
