Type 1 Cable

The type 1 cables are a single-phase cable that supports up to 7.4 kW of charging power (230 V, 32 A). They are standard cables commonly used for car vehicles from the Asian region. That is why there are extremely few public type 1 charging stations in Europe because they are common in Asian region.

Type 2 Cable

Europe is the primary market for the three-phase cable or type 2 cables. They are the industry standard in Europe. In private areas, charging power levels of about 22 kW are typical. At public charging stations, charging power levels of about 43 kW (400 V, 63 A, AC) are common. The majority of public charging stations have a type 2 socket. And all mode 3 or type 2 EV charging cables can be used. Also, both type 1 & type 2 cables can be used to charge electric vehicles.

CCS Combo Cable

The CCS (Combined Charging System) combo or combination cables are an improved type 2 cable that features two more power contacts for rapid charging and to allow DC and AC charging power levels up to 170 kW. Also, the power is typically in the range of 50 kW.

CHAdeMO Cable

The CHAdeMO cable is a fast-charging system that enables 50 kW charging capacities at the right public charging stations. The electric cars that are compatible with the CHAdeMO cables include Toyota, Mitsubishi, Citroën, Peugeot, Nissan, Tesla, Mazda, Kia, BD Otomotive, Subaru, and many more.

Tesla Cable
